The Wind Diva

Upon a mountain long ago, a castle stood with pride,
It's walls were made of ivory and it's flag blue, gold and white.
Within these walls were treasures, priceless jewels, silk of fine,
The halls adorned with Bottichelli's goblets filled with wine.

The King he was a handsome man with golden suntanned skin
His hair flowed down his shoulders and his eyes were bright, yet dim.
His voice unique and manly, one that would not be forgot
by any of the maidens that were loved by him....they thought.

When he went off to battle they would stand to admire,
The way he looked in armor with his soul ablaze like fire.
Returning tired and battered with the Dragons heart in hand,
His Diva would be there to lift his spirits to the wind.

But as the sun went down behind the castle's tree lined walls,
the King was all alone it seemed, to walk amongst the halls.
The corridor was long and cold, his footsteps slow and drawn,
The Diva could do nothing..only sing to him her songs.
Where is the one who longs for me? When will she come to me?
The Diva stroked his hair and whispered.."Soon my mighty King".

One morning as the sun shone brightly through his bedroom drape,
He thought he saw a lovely wolf outside the castle gate.
He quickly ripped the curtains back to get a better view,
Yes there she was, the wolf amongst the Springtime flowers new.

He crept along the outer portion of the castles frame,
Whispering ... "I'll call you The Springwolf..yes that's your name".
The Diva danced around her as if they were loving kin,
And Springwolf cried a heartfelt howl .. as if to sing with Wind.

The daises swirled round and round the wolf with sudden speed,
Then God sent all his angels to perform a wondrous deed!
The trumpets rolled as all the angels circled over Spring,
To turn her into human form ... a beauty for a King.

The fairies and the birds joined in to sing a happy tune.
That very night they said their vows under a silvery moon.
Then hand in hand they walked into their castle warmed with fire,
And now they live in heaven ... just the Princess and her Sire.
