Alien Eyes
-
Beneath the pointed hat, her eyes twinkled in the reflection of the flickering flames.
Her voice was soft and sweet, as she spoke her words to the Great Spirits.
Magic filled the night, as she danced beneath the twinkling stars.
As I gazed into her face, I saw the lifetime and wisdom of the ages.
Into her green eyes I was swept away to a land distant and far away.
Upon a land that was not new, to a world that was not my own.
Where the air was warm and the breeze was like roses.
Where peace filled the world, and life basked in it’s ever ending glow.
Into her alien eyes I gazed, not wanting to leave her gentle caress.

- One night Sir Garrett and I were talking by the light of a flame. He looked at me and out of the blue said I had alien eyes. “They’re not real some how, as if they’re not human. They’re green alien eyes.” Our conversation continued and that night he said some of the nicest things to me that have ever been expressed. His comments were the inspiration for this writing. To which I must reply, Thank you Garrett; but that can never convey the thanks I feel for you and what you’ve given me.
